Maya the Bee and Leadership, Part V

Now her favorite cartoon character

“And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion; and, behold, there was a nest of bees (adas devorim) and honey in the carcass of the lion.” (Shoftim 14:8)

As the commentaries explain, adas devarim refers to a nest of bees. But the word adas is based on the word eidah. This means “congregation” or “community,” and this name reflects the unique structure of a bee colony.”  HERE

I’m often drawn to children’s movies. Many times the Father shows me hidden messages in them or speaks to me. Recently, I watched Maya the bee. Maya is a Hindu name and means “illusion,” but Maya in Hebrew comes from mayim meaning “water.”

Yeshua told the woman at the well in John 4:14, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

The Hebrew word for bee is Deborah/ Devorah. This is also the feminine form of the word davar, which means “Word.”

“Maya is born in a world of rules, but when she discovers villainous Buzzlina Von Beena’s plot to steal the Queen’s royal jelly, Maya is banished from the hive and into the meadow. With her best friend Willy tagging along, Maya meets a young hornet named Sting. Together they have to stop the plot and the fight between bees and hornets before it’s too late.” Wikipedia.

Maya’s best friend is named Willie. His name means a helmet—protector.

While watching the movie, I learned that there was a huge scandal with this children’s tale and that one of the series episodes was removed from Netflix and other outlets, but we will cover that later.

This movie is perfect for understanding leadership and how it works. One only has to look at a hive to see bees working together in UNITY.

While reading, I learned that the queen is like a mother, and she is the master of the hive. The Holy Spirit is like a mother and the Ruach HaKosdesh wants to gather chicks under her wings. Holy Spirit is referred to in female form. The Queen is the only bee that gives birth, and lives approximately 2 to 7 years, laying up to 2,500 eggs per day. Towards the end of a queen’s life, she will produce an egg from which another queen will hatch. There are a few hundred male drones in a hive. These males do no work. They fertilize the queen. After the drones have completed their single task, they are evicted from the hive and left to starve to death outside of the colony. Though this sounds unfair, they do so often out of their own accord, as if they understood this as their only purpose in life. The worker bees make up 99% of the hive, and they are all females.

Guard bees protect the hive. House bees clean the cells. Wax bees build new cells and repair old ones. Nurse bees care for and feed the undeveloped young. Forager bees are the oldest and most experienced bees; they gather pollen and nectar, spending a lot of time away from the hive. The entire congregation works together. They each know their role, and they do it. Today they are in danger due to pesticides, cell phone towers, and disease. Sadly, we as His Body have many of the same issues.

Do you see the Five-fold in those bees? Look closely. Shepherds protect the hive. Prophets clean the cells. Apostles build new cells and repair old ones. Teachers care for and feed. Evangelist gather and spend time away from the congregation, and don’t forget the workers!

In the movie, we have the antagonist, Von Beena, who wants to usurp the queen. She even locks her away and steals the jar of Royal jelly. She lies to the others and explains that the Queen has died and that she will be the new queen. She takes the royal crown and places it on her head. She tells the others that hornets have done this. They are the ones who stole the jelly.

Meanwhile, the hornets blame the bees for crashing their nest, when in all actuality it was ‘ants’ who stumbled and accidentally did the damage while looking to save Maya. Each person is blaming the other insects for their troubles and falsely accusing them, and all parties are wrong. Sound like His Body? What does Von Beena’s name mean?

In German, Von is a preposition that means “of” (belonging to) or “from.” In German family names, it was initially used to indicate a place of origin and/or nobility. In Hebrew, Bina, which is similar to Beena, means “understanding”; Hebrew: בינה). One site had this to say, “Meaning of Beena. Beena is a Persian and Kurdish name for girls that means “perceptive”, “far-sighted”, “insightful”. Its literal meaning is “able to see.” Sadly, Buzzlina Von Beena has none of the characteristics her name implies. She has titles she has placed on herself but not anointing or design to be a queen. She is bent on power, usurping, and control. She is false. Lina means tenderness, but Von Beena is murderous in her actions and her words.  She is an impostor. Her titles do not mimic her character. Von Beena does steal the ‘royal jelly’ and she places the crown on her head, but she is still not Buzzworthy, and she certainly had no tenderness or mercy. She hides the jar of royal jelly under the crown upon her head. The crown she stole from the real deal. She doesn’t drink from the sweet jelly. It sits up there where her pride lies, in her head. What is this royal jelly? His Royal Jelly is His Word and Yeshua the Messiah is the Word that put on flesh.

“The law (Torah) of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;

The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

8The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.

10They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:7-10, NASB).

Young Maya’s teacher and mother figure in the movie is named Cassandra. Cassandra is a girl’s name of Greek origin, meaning “prophetess.” Ironically, the woman doing the voice for the character of the Queen in real life is named, Miriam. Yes, just like Aaron’s sister, the prophetess.

Many of you might already find me a tad nutty, but for those of you who allow Abba to speak to you through songs, movies, a bird, a bee, a street sign, license plates and any other object known to man, thanks for letting me unravel this.

Among other casts whose names intrigued me were Arnie (Powerful eagle) and Barney (Pet form of Barnabas, a name borne in the Bible by the apostle and missionary companion of Paul. The name is derived from the Aramaic barnebhū’āh (son of exhortation). Apostles and prophets need to work together along with the rest of the colony.

“He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) 11And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:10-13, NASB).

As for the removing of one series of Maya the Bee on Netflix, it was all due to a bad joke that I find prophetic.

“An absolutely inappropriate image has been discovered in a four-second fly-by scene in one episode of the total of 78 episodes of the series,” said production group Studio 100 in a statement on Friday. “The origin of this image obviously results from a terrible joke from one of the 150 artists working on the production.”

The image of a crudely-drawn penis was discovered by some U.S. viewers, who took screenshots of the offending scenes and posted them on social media. Netflix, which does not produce the show but licenses it for the U.S., has since pulled the episode of the show with the image in it.”

The outlined picture was drawn on a huge rock with a tree beside it. This just made me think of His seed, his circumcision, his cutting of a covenant. He is the Rock. His Sabbath is Queen; His Holy Spirit is often described by using water and a dove. We are grafted into His Tree. He gives us His Royal Jelly, and He even compares His Torah to honey. The series has 78 episodes. Seven is completion, His creation week, His Queen Sabbath Day of Rest, His Feasts, His return on the Feast of Trumpets and eight is new beginnings, making fat!

“Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste [khech]. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul” (Prov. 24:13-14a); “How sweet are your words to my taste [khech], sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Ps. 119:103).

“How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride!

How much better is your love than wine,

And the fragrance of your oils

Than all kinds of spices!

“Your lips, my bride, drip honey;

Honey and milk are under your tongue,

And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.” Song of Songs 4:10-11, NASB).
