The Jesus Revolution–Part II, Come Out of Her My People

A Jesus Revolution or a Yeshua revolution.

I’m somewhat sad writing this blog–somewhat angry–also, hopeful.  I’ll start with Lonnie Frisbee, one of the main characters in the new movie Jesus Revolution. He is played by the actor who portrays Jesus in The Chosen.  Lonnie’s wife was not contacted that they were making a movie about her life. She was placed and portrayed in a movie unaware.  Her daughter saw the film, looked at her friend, and said, “I think that may be my stepmom.” For two days, Connie could not stop crying.

When she went to see the movie, it provoked a strong reaction.

“I can tell you that 90% of the movie isn’t true,” Connie maintains. “The truth is that dealing with people is very messy. And they want to make it very tidy. They’ve tidied it all up so much that it just stinks to high heaven to me — and whitewashed it. That’s not how it was.”

Connie explains how Lonnie and her asked Pastor Chuck for marriage counseling, and he told her that her marriage was not important– winning souls was the only thing important.

I was impressed by her voice and the message she had concerning a revival or Revolution. Here is a snippet.

You can read her story and Lonnie’s HERE.

My first blog Jesus Revolution/Yeshua Revolution, had a mixed review. Some felt it was harsh, and some thought it was on point. As an author, I understand this type of response and try to see both sides. I want to go further.

Aaron’s sons were consumed by fire as they filled their censors with the spices and skipped over the coals from the Brazen altar. We can’t ignore repentance and giving our lives to Him wholly at the Brazen Altar or skip washing in the laver and race on over to the Holy of Holies with strange fire and not expect to get burned or it be a stench in Adonai’s Nostrils. In Leviticus 10, we read of Aaron’s son’s bodies being carried outside the camp away from the sanctuary. Death cannot reside where life is.

Many Evangelicals in the charismatic movement will lay hands on people and tell them to “take the fire!” They scream and carry on, not realizing that this fire will destroy them. Aaron’s sons dropped dead, consumed in fire. They think this fire is holy—set apart, but it’s the opposite.

Oh, our egos, our Elvis mentality, as Aaron’s sons boastfully sing I Did it My Way. Do we lack fear of Holy things?

In I Corinthians 5:5 Paul calls out a man publicly for sexual sins. Paul later brings him back into the fold gently. When we gather with people, this type of ordeal is not displayed for the whole world. It’s a matter of the community. As a teacher and author, today, I see or hear much going across the air waves and blasted throughout social media. Both truth and correction and exposing the falseness is now being called out in this manner too.

When reading of prophets in the Bible we see Elijah coming up against over 400 false prophets. We see the same ratio basically when Jehoshaphat and King Ahab approached 400 prophets to one of Adonia’s true mouth pieces. We need to be careful, as we all are capable of being led astray.

Bear with me– First of all, some background– I was raised in a charismatic church under the Assembly of God denomination. Here are some of my experiences: I have watched Rodney Howard Brown and his “Holy Ghost” Bar room in person. If you don’t know who he is, you can click HERE. 65.8K Followers.

I have seen Evangelist Todd Bentley scream and yell and proclaim he kicked an elderly person in the face because the Holy Spirit told him to so they could be healed. Watch HERE. 16.3K followers. Of course, the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) is gentle and would never do such a thing, and our condition today is no laughing matter either. Leaders kept an eye on Bentley at the Ashbury revival.

The pastor I was raised with made national headlines as he prayed curses over those who may have stopped Donald Trump from being president in a live aired broadcast. His words below:

“Father, those that have lied, those that have stolen this election, those that have cheated, I place the curse of God upon them,” Rodgers said during the televised service, as reported by WDRB. “I curse you with weakness in your body. I curse you with poverty. I curse you with the worst year you’ve ever had in the name of the Lord.” (9,000 members)

The blessings are promised when we keep the Torah/Law and curses come upon a people and a nation when they do not keep His Torah. Our nation is experiencing this right now. God has the authority, not this pastor.

The same Pastor made more headlines that dealt with money and corruption. You can read that HERE.

I am not perfect, and I am sure if any of our lives were looked into, all could find things in need of maturity and healing. When you are in leadership, you are in the public eye and the Bible says you will be judged more harshly.

Sadly, for decades the Body has entertained men with titles who have made multi-millions from robbing the poor, the widows, and the orphans. I was raised by a mother who became mesmerized by a man who swung his suit jacket around and caused men to be “slain in the “spirit” on the floor. What type of spirit this is, is questionable. People in the Bible came into the Holy presence of Adonai and fell forward on their faces. This man filled stadiums. This evangelist laid hands on the sick and professed they were healed, so my mother with Parkinson’s gave my father’s hard-earned money to support Mr. Hinn, and while crying in pain, she stood in line for lengths of time to be touched by this man but was never healed. He has millions of followers.

I have listened to Kenneth Copeland, and Jessie Duplantis discuss their millions in pompous display at my childhood church.

A verbatim quote from Jesse Duplantis 2021:

“I was on television and this fellow said, ‘I heard you was a millionaire.’ I said That’s not true. MULTI. Now add that to it, and you’ll be all right.’

“Oh, he couldn’t handle that. He like to have a fit. I said, ‘You mess with me, and I’ll buy this station, and I’ll fire you.’

“That was a little fleshy, but it felt good.”

Millions are blinded by these soothe sayers–vipers.

This very popular woman explains Holy Ghost toking as in a joint.

HERE.

In an instant we can just activate the Ruach (Holy Spirit). It’s just fun and games and laughter (sarcasm).

“Now Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense, and offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to His command. So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died in the presence of the LORD.” Leviticus 10.

I usually don’t point people out. This does not mean I know them, or their hearts, or what they are learning or repenting of today, this very moment. But we have many things happening inside the buildings and not just in the charismatic camp. We have it in the Messianic circles/Hebrew Rooters, but I will have to add that in Part 3.

I was very touched by the youth at the recent revival in KY. Many were kneeling and praying and spending time worshipping the Holy One. I also know they are going to need some teachers, and not the ones above, and possibly not the ones at the college. I found my mentors after crying out, “I want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” I found truth after studying His Word for hours, but I still needed teachers. Teachers need teachers. The 5-fold is needed for order. Ephesians 4.

In the congregation I was raised in, each time the pastor read a portion of the word aloud, I would open my Bible and read the entire chapter. I often thought, “If they had only read the next verse, they would have not been able to preach what they did!”

I realized; I had been duped. Today, in Christianity, mostly pastors don’t read the Word. If they do, they cherry-pick it. Many pastors and teachers today are motivational speakers. Others are fist-pounding, hell-talking, angry men who point fingers at others and never at themselves.  Still, Others are humble servants, and I believe the men in charge of Asbury guarded it and monitored visitors like Todd Bentley, who should have never been able to enter in my opinion. The leaders at Asbury gave no men the spotlight. My issues are with the “mixing” which I will get into more in part III.

In my youth and early 20s, I was the person who went to the altar every other week, trying to repent again and again because I kept messing up. Or so I thought. I did not realize it was mostly religion– a religious spirit that said things like “You must never miss a Sunday or weekly service. Don’t visit other churches—stay in your sheepfold. Pay 10% tithe even if you are a widow, disabled, or homeless.  Plant a seed here and reap the harvest. The pastor would yell, “if you don’t tithe, you’re all under a curse, according to Malachi.” This passage, too, was never read in full for truth. The message taught at the church was righteous people were those who don’t cuss, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t chew, and don’t hang around those who do. Sometimes they don’t wear pants or make-up or jewelry. The rules change according to the titles of the buildings, and mostly women need to be quiet because Paul the apostle apparently could not make up his mind if women prophesied, were apostles and disciples holding house meetings, or if they needed to remain quiet–“I suffer not a woman to teach!”

Later, I realized most everything I had been taught was a lie. Keeping the commandments and walking in His Torah (The Tree of Life) was what the Holy One required.  To be Holy and set apart looked different than I imagined. More on this later; and no, I am not promoting addiction or drunkenness and other issues. Some will tell you that the church is keeping all the commandments and that they are set apart, but I think we have a smelly situation going on. Instead of fresh bread dipped in frankincense and a sweet-smelling incense, we have the opposite.

We still need a Yeshua revolution. I’ll repeat it: Christianity’s weak, false gospel is killing us and our youth. Our root system is sickly and a rotting mess. The whole thing is coming down. Yeshua knew it was all coming down when He looked at one of his disciples, who was googly eyeing Herod’s elaborate temple of gold and Yeshua said, “it’s all coming down.”

Babylon has fallen. Can you hear the melody?

“As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, look at the magnificent stones and buildings!” “Do you see all these great buildings?” Jesus replied. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” Mark 13:1-2.

The melody continues:

But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. (Rev. 21:22).

The Holy One tells Nathan to speak to David about building Him a temple:

Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: Are you the one to build for Me a house to dwell in?  For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt until this day, but I have moved about with a tent as My dwelling. In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders appointed to shepherd My people Israel, ‘Why haven’t you built Me a house of cedar?’ (II Sam. 7:5-7, BSB).

In Revelations, we are warned to come out of a beastly system. He warns us not to share in this corruption, and yes, sometimes God will send a prophet inside to warn, correct, bring a message, but usually it’s not heeded.

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!  She has become a lair for demons and a haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every detestable beast.  All the nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her immorality.”

The Holy One’s people have been in Babylon partaking–Today the wolves in sheep’s clothing are starting to be exposed. (Wolves Unseen, Part 3 coming soon) Last year the Father told me the voice of Amos is coming. That is a strong voice. Also, this prophet brings a terrifying prophecy and I am hearing it loudly in my ear. It will come. Is it here?

Behold, the days are coming,

declares the Lord GOD,

when I will send a famine on the land—

not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,

but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.

People will stagger from sea to sea

and roam from north to east,

seeking the word of the LORD,

but they will not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

As I said earlier, this stench is not just a charismatic issue.

1. One priest in Boston allegedly raped or molested 130 children as church officials moved him from parish to parish over decades.

2. A total of 271 members of the clergy were publicly accused of child sex abuse in Boston alone.

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues. (Rev. 18:2)

According to The Stream:

The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., has had a long run of filthy bishops. I use that word advisedly. Ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick himself molested a young boy over many years — and sexually harassed the more attractive seminarians over whom he wielded power. Then he used his power in 2002 to exempt bishops like himself from penalties linked to covering up sex abuse.

As the grand finale of his ecclesiastical drag act, McCarrick personally brokered Pope Francis’ alliance with Communist China against the West, which threw persecuted Christians in that country under the bus. In his decades of power and influence, McCarrick handpicked most of the wretched leaders that now plague the U.S. church, such as cardinals Blaise Cupich of Chicago and Joseph Tobin of Newark. For more click HERE.

3. After McCarrick, which broke in mid-July, were quickly followed by the release of an exhaustive (1,400-page) grand jury report that identified 1,000 cases of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of more than 300 Catholic priests in the single state of Pennsylvania– Other states are apparently preparing similar reports of their own

4.  Numerous high-ranking church officials, including Pope Francis himself, knew about McCarrick’s record of abuse for many years and yet repeatedly promoted and protected him from sanctions (including those imposed by Pope Benedict XIV).

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues. (Rev. 18:2)

John Zmirak, author of The Stream explains more horrifying details:

Not to be outdone, McCarrick’s successor Cardinal Donald Wuerl came to Washington with a track record of nauseating dishonesty over sex abuse. A 5-year-old boy who was molested by Fr. George Zirwas, of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was part of a sex-ring of gay predator priests, who focused on teenage boys. His preferences were well-known to then-bishop Donald Wuerl .

But Wuerl never called the cops. He didn’t tell Rome to defrock him. After moving Zirwas from parish to parish, watching him re-offend, Wuerl finally put him on paid leave, for the rest of his life. When Zirwas offered Wuerl names of still more priest offenders, Wuerl paid him more not to tell him. Instead, Wuerl asked him to sign a false declaration that he had no such information. Which would get Wuerl off the hook, legally speaking.”

There is a whole lot of lawlessness going on! And the eyes of Lord sees it all. Vengeance is His, He will repay.

The Southern Baptist have their own issues.

  1. The Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News in an expansive investigation named 220 pastors, ministers, deacons, volunteers, Sunday school teachers and others who were found guilty of sexually abusing churchgoers over 20 years. More than 250 have been charged. And roughly 380 Southern Baptist church leaders and volunteers have faced allegations of sexual misconduct involving more than 700 victims.

The feel-good emotional gospel, with a little g, has all the ingredients of a little god. Smiling elders with no authority, coffee bars, fruit cups, stories, and motivational speaking that gives warm fuzzies and predators. Tell everyone that Jesus loves them, and they can be forgiven, and accepted just as they are—no changing according to His instructions.

Back to the Jesus Revolution movie. My heart is sad over Lonnie and his life, and what little I know about his life, it seems hidden in secrets, brokenness, child molestation, and trying to find his identity like so many of us. He became caught up in a movement. It had signs and wonders.

Lawlessness was at work in Paul’s day.

The coming of the lawless (Torahless) one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved. And for this reason, Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood, in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.

II Thessalonians 2:9-12

The movie The Jesus Revolution has a scene where a pastor is washing feet, and the youth are lined up as he, “the humble servant,” washes. I say this with fear and the most humility I can muster—How can we wash feet if we don’t know the commandments, keep the Torah, keep the set apart Sabbath, Keep His holy Feasts days, and if we are eating swine and disregarding the Words of LIFE? How can we wash anyone’s feet? I had to find someone who could help me wash my feet!!

How can we be Kadosh, set apart, if we do everything the world does, and the way the world does it, and accept the way the world accepts everything and call it love? When we go out into the world and walk in it, our feet and hands get dirty, and more so today. But the Bible tells us how to become clean, Yeshua must wash us, The Word washes us clean, but how can the Word wash us if we never read it thoroughly or study it? How can we have knowledge and wisdom if we never study the Torah? A Bride with no stain. No wrinkles. No blemish. I know I have a long way to go:

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ (Messiah) loved the church (His Body) and gave Himself up for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless. (Ephesians 5:25-27)

The church preaches a different Messiah. He looks different. He speaks differently. He disobeys His Father. Yeshua warned that many would come in His Name proclaiming they were His ministers and that they preached of Him, but Yeshua said they are anti-christ (Anti-Messiah) and are not truly depicting Him or His Father.

If the whole world eats it, celebrates it, keeps it set apart, watches it on T.V and idolizes it, should we?

  1. This was a good summary of what’s going on in the world! The church is so watered down when sermons are preached, I don’t go half the time and have found Rabbi Jonathan Cahn sermons to meet the mark every Sunday! The world is simply a mess!! Maria McFarland
